The Johnstown-Monroe Local School District encompasses approximately 54 square miles. The School District's boundaries include all of the City of Johnstown, and portions of the City of New Albany, as well as all of Monroe Township, and portions of Liberty and Jersey townships within Licking County and Harlem Township in neighboring Delaware County.
Johnstown-Monroe School District is largely located in the northwest corner of Licking County and extends into Delaware County. The School District is situated minutes from the border of Franklin County and approximately 15 miles from the City of Columbus' corporation limit.
The School District is an independent political subdivision of the State; the school district is not a part of, nor under the control of, the County, the City, or any other political subdivision.
