Johnstown-Monroe Schools to provide most student 2024-25 school supplies

Dear Johnstown-Monroe Families:
The Johnstown-Monroe Board of Education is pleased to announce its intention to provide nearly all student supply list items for the July 2024-25 school year.
The school district will use its bulk buying ability to leverage better purchasing prices and to provide more consistency of supplies across grade levels and buildings. While this represents a one-year suspension of supply list requirements for J-M families, it is the Board’s intention to re-evaluate this action for possible continuation for the 2025-26 school year and into the future.
To be clear, this means the District will provide virtually all in-school-use items such as glue sticks, pencils, scissors, tissues, headphones, and other items traditionally appearing on annual supply lists.
Exceptions to this action are calculators required in the sixth through twelfth grades. Families are still responsible for providing required calculators for the 2024-25 school year. More information regarding specific calculator needs will be communicated by school building principals.
General Course fees suspended for 2024-25 school year
During the July 10 Special Meeting, the Board of Education also agreed to the suspension of all general course fees for the 2024-25 school year. However, the following fees will remain in place:
• Testing Fees (AP, PSAT, Etc.)
• Technology Fees (Chromebooks)
• High School Dues (High School Only)
• Extra Curricular Participation/Activity Fees:
--Marching Band Fees (Transportation Fee)
--Athletic Participation Fees (Transportation Fee)
• Overnight Class Trips
--Senior Class Trip; 5th Grade Camp
